We’re Growing Together – International Collaboration in Our Business Unit

How personal encounters in the UK, the USA, and the Netherlands are creating new perspectives – and why growing together is part of our everyday reality.

We have ambitious goals – and we’re committed to offering you an even better, internationally coordinated service in the future. To achieve this, we rely on personal exchange, mutual understanding, and genuine collaboration across our global locations.

Over the past weeks, several colleagues have been on the road – with a clear mission: unified processes, shorter paths, and tangible benefits for you, our customer.

Silke Widerspick (VP Business Unit Service), Gerhard Frisch (Head of After Sales Service / Chief Human Resource Officer GMC-I Service), and other team members engaged in intensive dialogue with the teams at our sister companies – including Calibrationhouse UK, Seaward, GMC Instruments Americas, and GMC Instruments NL. Regular exchange with our team in Woerden (GMC Instruments NL) has also become firmly established.

A special highlight: Silke Widerspick’s visit to Calibrationhouse USA at the new GMC Instruments Americas headquarters in Edison, New Jersey. There, she met with Andrew Simpson (Director Calibrationhouse UK/USA), Lutz Boetger (Managing Director GMC Instruments Americas), and Patrick Vogt (US Director of Finance in the US). The visit included a site tour and discussions on current workflows, with a focus on next steps for further international integration.

The new Calibrationhouse facility in Edison delivers calibration and repair services for both GMC Instruments and third-party equipment – underlining our commitment to high-quality solutions, efficient service, and customer proximity.

Michael Müller

Michael Müller (Business Development Manager) and Isabella Dautremay (Marketing Manager) also travelled to the UK. At Seaward and Calibrationhouse UK, they gained valuable insights and experienced the unique team culture on site.

One particularly impressive initiative was Seaward’s daily mood board meeting – a format where team leaders openly discuss the atmosphere and current challenges in their departments. What may sound simple has a significant impact: it builds trust, strengthens team cohesion, and improves day-to-day collaboration.

These efforts are not just about internal culture – they’re part of Seaward’s commitment to maintaining a motivated, focused team that consistently delivers first-class service to its customers. This is further supported by an internal wellness team and a dedicated relaxation room, ensuring staff are energised and ready to meet customer needs every day.

The content-driven exchange was also a great success:
The UK Business Development Team –
Sara Jefferson (Business Development Manager),
Hayley Joyce (Business Development Executive),
Laura Smith (Business Development Executive), and
Corryn Old (Business Development Executive) – openly shared their experiences. Together, market differences were analysed, synergies discussed, and concrete ideas for even closer collaboration developed.

And the practical side wasn’t neglected either: A visit to the workshop and the mobile calibration van – “The Man in the Van” – made it clear how flexible and customer-oriented our on-site service can be: fast, efficient, and tailored to the needs of our clients.

What does this mean for our customers?

An internationally coordinated service, shared quality standards, and active, collaborative exchange make us faster, more flexible, and more reliable – no matter where your request comes from. Through close international cooperation, we combine our expertise and create solutions that are more efficient and better aligned with your needs.

Our Business Unit is growing – not just in terms of structure, but above all through personal encounters, shared goals, and true collaboration.

Whether in the USA, UK, Netherlands, or Germany – we’re taking the next steps together.

What’s next? Stay tuned.

We’re growing together.
