Three days full of insights, exchanges and shared perspectives: What Calibrationhouse UK's visit to GMC-I Service means for our international collaboration.

After our visit to the UK, it became clear that collaboration between GMC-I Service and Calibrationhouse UK offers strong strategic potential. That’s why in June we welcomed two colleagues to Nuremberg: Sara Jefferson, Business Development Manager, who leads on strategic initiatives, and Hayley Joyce, Business Development Executive, who supports international customer engagement. Their visit focused on aligning service processes, encouraging shared learning, and further strengthening our global customer focus.
Over the three-day visit, Michael Müller (Business Development Manager) played a central role – not just as a host, but as a facilitator. He led the programme and gave a detailed tour of the GMC-I Service facility, walking the guests through departments and work areas to help build transparency and a shared understanding of roles, processes, and responsibilities.
The agenda focused on gaining hands-on insight into key service processes. Alongside Michael Nussbaumer (Commercial Order Processing), the group reviewed the full lifecycle of order handling – from equipment receipt through to dispatch. Andy Wolf (Technical Service Support) added valuable context with a look into rental equipment workflows. To support cross-border collaboration, the team also explored how GMC-I Service interfaces with Seaward from the German operational perspective.
A standout moment was the visit to GOSSEN Foto- und Lichtmesstechnik, where Managing Director Klaus-Peter Richter personally led a tour of the light laboratory. Drawing on his decades of experience and passion for precision, he offered not only technical insight but a vivid sense of the innovation that runs through GMC Instruments.
The group also visited MTP Messtechnik Produktions GmbH, where they saw firsthand how assembly, production, and quality assurance processes come together. These insights helped build a broader understanding of how development and manufacturing are structured across our network – a crucial step toward stronger future collaboration.
Another key moment was a focused workshop with Carsten Kromer (Business Development Manager, BU Power Quality at Prosys) and Michael Roick (Business Development Manager, BU Electrical Test & Safety at Gossen Metrawatt). Carsten shared valuable insights into the Prosys product range and customer landscape, sparking discussions around future synergies and opportunities. Michael Roick introduced the group to developments in e-mobility and charging infrastructure, exploring how these areas could open new market potential for Calibrationhouse.
The visit reinforced just how valuable close cooperation across GMC Instruments’ business units and brands can be. For our customers, it means a more seamless service experience, faster and more informed support, and access to a broader range of solutions – all built on shared expertise, innovation, and strong personal relationships.
