Consumenta 2023 - We were there!

This year the 69th Consumenta took place in Nuremberg, with over 1.2 million visitors in the past 8 years. For us as an exhibiting group of companies (GOSSEN METRAWATT, MTP Messtechnik Produktions GmbH, GMC-I Service GmbH) this year's fair was a premiere.

But how did it come about?

Through the expansion of our lecture hall and laboratory sponsorship at the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm, we came into contact with the professor in charge of the RoboCup project, Prof. Dr. Stefan May. It quickly became clear that we could and wanted to support the project. And so, within 4 weeks, we set up 2 exhibition stands, a strong team on site and some sponsoring equipment.

What is the RoboCup?

At the RoboCup, students compete against and with each other in various disciplines with robots they have built themselves. See the article below for impressions.

At the Cup pit stop, we provided support for any repairs that needed to be made. At the recruitment stand, we were able to present our group of companies as an attractive employer. Many visitors were familiar with the brand and its appliances. "At least one person in every family that came to our stand had come into contact with Gossen Metrawatt in some way," says Gerhard Frisch. The older visitors in particular were positively surprised that GOSSEN is still active in the region and that Gossen and Metrawatt merged in the 1990s. Catherine Reim reports: "We had lots of interested visitors with great conversations at our stand and even some people who were actually interested in a job."

And to our delight, the Dean of the Technical University, Prof. Dr. Frank Pöhlau, also stopped by for a chat. Unexpectedly, our PROFITEST MASTER from GOSSEN METRAWATT was then also used to successfully troubleshoot a building electrical box.

Gerhard Frisch summarizes: "With our presentation, we were able to reach a wide range of target groups, especially on the days with the most visitors. Whether it was about our equipment, our services, our training offerings or the Group's vacancies and training opportunities, the demand was wide-ranging."

Our conclusion after 5 days at the trade fair: the visit was a complete success overall and at all levels and we are looking forward to the next Consumenta in 2024.
