GMC-I Service is now a certified training company

August 20th was a special day for us—we signed a cooperation agreement with SOS Children's Village, and starting from September 2nd, we will be able to train our first apprentice.

The fact that we can now call ourselves a training company is thanks to our training manager, Annalena Wechsler. It was her desire to become a trainer that sparked this initiative earlier this spring. As a former member of the Youth and Apprentice Representation (JAV) at Deutsche Bahn, she is particularly committed to fostering young talent and supporting apprentices, both professionally and personally.

No sooner said than done, Annalena completed her trainer certification exam before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in June.

Shortly afterward, we received a request from "SOS-Kinderdorf" asking if we could envision becoming a cooperation partner. The contact with SOS Children's Villages was made during this year's JobWalk in Erlangen.

Annalena then initiated all further steps, such as registering with the IHK for approval as a training company, designing a customized training plan for our apprentice in accordance with the framework curriculum, and further correspondence with Sonja Akaraci, the socio-pedagogical vocational training supervisor from SOS Children's Village. Additionally, she gathered information on-site at ZAW about the possibilities of providing necessary training content through inter-company training.

On August 6th, a representative from the IHK, Christian Frauenknecht, visited us to get an impression of the suitability of our company. This meeting also went so well that we immediately received approval to officially start training. In this context, Annalena was also officially registered as a trainer for GMC-I Service for the profession of Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems (m/f/d).

So, it is confirmed—starting from September 2nd, we will begin training our first apprentice at GMC-I Service. This step is of great importance to us, as it represents an active investment in the future of our company. In times of skilled labor shortages, it is more important than ever to foster young talent early and provide them with solid training.

Ms. Akaraci visited us yesterday together with our first apprentice. In a friendly exchange, the final details were discussed and the cooperation agreement was signed. Our apprentice and Ms. Akaraci were then given a tour of our company to get a first impression of the future workplace, including a brief introduction to our deputy trainer, Timo Hanschke

We look forward to working with SOS Children's Village and sincerely thank them for the trust they have placed in us by entrusting us with the care of their protégé.

Through this collaboration, we aim to support the development of young people. High-quality training is particularly important to us. Additionally, by training our own employees, we create a team that, from the outset, embodies our values and internalizes our quality standards.

We are proud to take this step and look forward to a shared future with our new apprentice.
